Galaxy Nexus' camera is surprisingly shite. A closer photo doesn't even show the pile of epsom salt in the middle of the bath that is being drawn here. I wanted to point that out because I often think the photos I take show next to nothing compared to what I'm actually seeing when I take them. Skin covered in pus comes out looking like... skin.

When I stood up from my meal, I could feel this bugar so I took this to show that after showering, soaking, and eating, it could be time to clean up my bum again. I put in a fresh sterile pad and went for a walk with my mom and dog...

I found the pad from my previous walk, sitting in the middle of the trail. The top pad shows less than one hour's worth of thick pus that had discharged while out on the walk.

I would imagine Bigfoot's anus to be less dirty, quite a bit more hairy, and slightly more blurry.

Before a soak.

After a nap.

I walked with the dogs around the block and this is what accumulated.

Around the block one time. This is a big part of the reason I quit my job as a morning stocker at Lowe's after a week. I can't really be wiping my ass every twenty minutes, and I sure as hell can't be walking round with pus building up in my shorts. It's worth noting that landing the job at Lowe's in particular was one of the only times I'd quit smoking for several weeks consecutively in order to pass the drug test. Obviously not worth it.

Woke up early this morning and had some bleeding.

Bit of blood... Too early to get up but I was rather hungry, so I ate some cereal and went back to bed.

No photo this afternoon because when I got up and around, I had to move a major bowel. To clarify, my stools have been normal for my standards: formed to moderately soft, with little or no undigested food visible. However, it is remarkably unfortunate I didn't have a photo to share, because there was a slightly alarming amount of blood from the wound. This discharge occurred over time and not as a result of the stool. Times like these call for a shower followed by an epsom soak. If I had a way to smoke a few huge bong rips, now would be a crucial time to do so. Edibles would also be ideal.

Woke up with solids. Cleaned up, put on a pad, went to take out the back seat of my car to replace the fuel line.

Less than an hour of easy work's worth of discharge...

Asshole.

I really don't remember for sure, but I think I soaked briefly here. I'll have to start recording my experiences more quickly. If I recall, I woke, ate, bathed, and went back to bed.

As much as I hate to say it, I definitely went back to sleep for lack of drive for consciousness. I woke in the afternoon with this.

And this.

I went for a walk with dog and mom, and cut short to return home because of the discomfort. Pictured is the string of pus that formed meanwhile. Somewhere, my pad had fallen out. This happens more than I would recommend. Tape is incredibly irritating to the skin in this area, and collects dirt and putrescence in a neat rectangle outline. One alternative I've tried is wearing a diaper. Then if the pad slips out of place, it doesn't fall out, it just gets stuck to my but cheek while my butt hole chafes.

I had taken a shower, and several hours later gotten ready for bed. First I had to clean up my arse.

This is a regular thing I guess.

If I recall, this is before an epsom soak last night. There is some pus that's come out.

Again, if I recall, and judging by the time stamps, this will have been after the soak...

In the morning, there was solid orangish and yellow pus/blood, and I had mistakenly went to bed without any dressing over the wound...

This is what my boxers look like with the discharge. I wear almost exclusively boxer briefs to keep the dressing and/or mess as tidy as possible. As shown however, loose fitting boxers get covered in filth internally. In this case, I had just woken up, but sometimes this happens when I've just been sitting, and I don't feel the difference until I stand up. In fact, this is tame compared to some days. I've had three layers soak through, leaving visible wetness on the back of my pants within a matter of hours or less. Surely the discomfort of a wet and sticky asshole speaks for itself. The embarrassment of a visibly leaking butt on a semi-regular basis is another thing entirely.

After removing the pad in the morning and cleaning the area, I hadn't really required a new pad. There is some swelling shown, but the purpose of this photo is to show the effects of the following task.

I mowed my parent's lawn on a riding lawn mower. I knew a pad would be needed for this, and the photo illustrates the bleeding that occurred in about ninety minutes.

The area is irritated and slightly more swollen.

On the effects of weed on Crohn's Dis-ease

Yesterday, Saturday, I took the first pictures for this story...

Friday night, I came home to West Liberty from a few days of working and smoking in Iowa City. I had been smoking almost exclusively from glass bowls used only for marijuana, though on Thursday night, I shared a blunt among friends. This will have been the last blunt I'll have smoked. Though I hit but twice, I felt the negative effects of the tobacco and chemical laden paper wrap later that night and on the following days. I have quit smoking cigarettes about three weeks prior.

I will be smoking exclusively marijuana from now forward, including resin. This excludes shisha and hand rolled cigarettes and spliffs, however, I will only be using tobacco that is as far as I can tell without additive chemicals. I will no longer smoke a spliff if it has been rolled with the tobacco from a cigarette. The health benefits of the marijuana smoke are outweighed by the negative effects of the additives from most tobacco products.

The purpose for this blog is to illustrate the effects of smoking marijuana on my wound.

The wound is diagnosed as a perianal (near the anus) abscess (pocket of pus), and has previously been diagnosed as a fistula (tract of infection connecting two internal or external surfaces, in this case the internal rectum and external skin). During the original surgery and subsequent surgeries in the following years, the site was cut open and drained of pus, packed with gauze, and I wore pads or adult diapers to absorb the blood in the days following. Then, when the site "healed," it slowly seeped pus and/or blood, flowing remarkably more heavily during times when I was sick with phlegm or diarrhea, or times of heightened stress.

I had showered and taken an epsom salt bath soak prior to shaving around my surgical site. This is a wound I have had for over ten years, and has been draining blood and pus since it was first opened while I was in high school, and re-opened to drain after sealing and gaining pressure several times since. I have been told by a surgeon and a wound care specialist that this wound will never heal and that I am doing the best I can by keeping it clean and using sterile pads which need to be changed up to dozens of times per day if the site is draining.

As you can see, the wound is mostly closed. The scar looks like a fold to the left of the anal opening. This is directly after cleaning, soaking, drying, and shaving.

The next morning, the pad was soaked, which you can't really see in the photo, but the solids deposited are obvious.

Some swelling can be seen. This photo was taken directly after removing the pad. Skin tags can also be seen near the anal opening, a condition that developed with Crohn's Dis-ease.
